You'll put an image in the shared library and use it on a page. Allow about three minutes. Have an image you have permission to use ready on your computer.

## Upload and describe the image

1. Open **Uploads**, then choose **Create new Upload**.
2. Choose **Select a file** and select your image. You can also drag a file into the upload area. Check the filename before saving.

3. Fill in **Alternative text**. Describe what a visitor needs to understand about the image. For a logo, the organization's name is usually enough. For a photo, describe its useful subject rather than writing "image" or repeating the filename.

4. Choose **Save** and wait for it to finish. Return to **Uploads** and find the filename. The image belongs to the shared library, so you can use it on more than one page. If saving fails, see [upload help](https://docs.systhema.app/cs/editor-guide/media.md#if-an-upload-does-not-save). You can use an existing library image to finish the tour.

## Use the image in a block

1. Return to your practice page in **Pages**. Click a blank paragraph in the main **Content** editor. Open the blocks menu and choose **Image**.
2. Under **Select image**, choose **Choose from existing**. Find your upload by its filename and select it. You can use an existing library image for practice too.

3. Check the selected filename and thumbnail in the Image block. **Advanced settings** controls its width, shape, and optional link. Keep the defaults for your first image.

4. Choose **Save Draft**, check **Live Preview**, and choose **Publish changes** when the image looks right.

## Check afterwards

The file should appear in **Uploads**, and the page should show the intended image. Check it on a smaller screen too. If the crop hides the subject, review the image's settings before publishing.
