> This page isn't translated yet. Showing English.

> [!NOTE]
> This feature is optional. If you don't see a content-language selector on your editing screen, your site may not use it or your role may not have access. Ask your agency if you'd like to use it.

You'll edit and check a translation, then publish that language when it is ready. Choose the content language before you edit. The account's **Language** preference changes the Admin's menus and labels; it does not translate the website.

## Edit a translation

1. Open the page or post you want to translate.
2. Choose the language in the editing screen's content-language selector.
3. Review the title, address, content, SEO and other translated fields. Replace missing or incorrect translations.
4. Choose **Save Draft** in that language, then check its preview.
5. Switch to another language and check its version separately.

Translate the meaning, including button labels, links, alternative text and confirmation messages. Check the public address in the same language rather than assuming an Admin language change changed the page.

## What is translated and what is shared?

The exact fields depend on your site. Ask your agency which fields are shared if the distinction is unclear.

| Content | What it does | Tip |
| --------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| Titles, body text and SEO | Usually have separate values for each language. | Review each translation before publishing. |
| Page or post address | May have a separate address in each language. | Check the language's address and links. |
| Page template, parent and other structural settings | Usually stay shared across languages. | Changing a shared field can affect every translation. |
| Images and files | The underlying file is shared; descriptive text may be translated. | Replacing a file can affect every place using it. |
| Form choice labels | Can show translated wording while keeping the same answer choice. | Keep the choices equivalent across languages. |

Your body blocks may be separate for each language. Review the translated layout as well as the words; do not assume a new block was copied to every language.

## Publish per language

Pages, posts and reusable content normally have a separate publication status for each language. A published English page can coexist with a draft French translation. Saving or publishing one language does not normally publish the others.

1. Choose the language you want to publish and review its saved draft.
2. Use **Publish changes** when it is ready, then check that language's public page.
3. Repeat for each finished translation. Leave unfinished translations as drafts.

If your site uses a shared publication status instead, agree the publication process with your agency before releasing unfinished translations.

**Header** and **Footer** can contain translated text while sharing their publication status. Treat publishing them as a change that needs checking across all languages.

## When a translation is missing

Some sites show text from the default language when a translation is missing. Seeing that text does not mean the translation has been written or saved. Replace it with the correct wording and check all important fields. A site may instead hide an unavailable translation or show a missing page; your agency sets that behavior.

## Check afterwards

Check each public language, including menus, headings, forms, SEO and links. Confirm that unfinished languages are not accidentally available. For moved translated addresses, ask about language-specific [redirects](https://docs.systhema.app/hu/next/editor-guide/redirects.md).
