> [!NOTE]
> This feature is optional. If you don't see **SEO** on a page, your site may not use it or your role may not have access. Ask your agency if you'd like to use it.

You'll control how one page is described in search results and when someone shares its address. Open the page and choose **SEO**. For site-wide settings, see [SEO](https://docs.systhema.app/sk/next/editor-guide/seo.md).

## Page SEO fields

| Field or control | What it does | Tip |
| ------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Disable page from appearing in search results** | Asks search engines not to list this page. | Use for a page that should stay out of search. This does not make the page private. |
| **Meta Title** | Sets the title used for this page's search and sharing description. | Make it clear what the page is about. The Admin gives a length guide. |
| **Insert variable** | Adds **Page title**, **Separator**, or **Website name** to the title. | Variables follow the corresponding page or site value. |
| **Copy from page title** | Uses the page's Admin title as the starting title. | Review it for visitors before publishing. |
| **Social Media Share Image** | Chooses the image for shared links. | Use a clear image that still works when cropped. |
| **Meta Description** | Sets a short description of the page. | The field recommends 100 to 150 characters. Write a useful summary rather than a list of keywords. |
| **Preview** | Shows an example of how a link may appear. | Check both the title and image. The external service can display them differently. |

Empty values can use the site's defaults. The preview helps you see the resulting title and description. Ask your agency to change site-wide defaults.

## Write the title and description

1. Open the page's **SEO** tab. Leave the search visibility checkbox clear for an ordinary public page.
2. Enter **Meta Title**, use **Copy from page title**, or choose a variable from **Insert variable**. A title can combine normal words and the available variables.
3. Write **Meta Description** as one or two short sentences about the page. Check the length feedback below the field.
4. For **Social Media Share Image**, use **Choose from existing** to select a library image, or **Create New** to upload one.

The optional **Generate** and **Image generation** controls help draft suggestions when the AI tools are enabled. Always review their output. See [AI assistant](https://docs.systhema.app/sk/next/editor-guide/ai-assistant.md).

## Check the previews and publish

1. Review **Google** for the search-result example.
2. Open **Facebook**, **X**, **LinkedIn**, **Discord**, or **Slack** to check the sharing example you need.
3. Choose **Save Draft** while reviewing, then **Publish changes** to make the SEO changes public.
4. Check that the page still opens at its ordinary address and that you have not accidentally disabled search visibility.

> [!NOTE]
> Publishing updates your website. Search engines and sharing services can keep older information for a while. The preview is an example, not a promise of the exact result or an immediate update elsewhere.

## Check afterwards

Check the saved title, description and sharing image in the preview. Confirm that the page opens at its public address and that its search visibility setting is correct.

## Visibility is not privacy

A page excluded from search can still be opened by someone with its address. Use drafts or [unpublishing](https://docs.systhema.app/sk/next/editor-guide/pages/drafts-and-versions.md#unpublish-a-page) when a page should not be publicly available.
