Site-wide SEO
Set default search titles, descriptions and social images, then check their previews.
On this page
You'll set the default titles, descriptions and images used when someone finds or shares your pages. SEO means search engine optimization: helping search engines describe your pages. Site-wide defaults provide a starting point; individual pages can have their own title, description and social image.

-
Open General Settings → SEO.
-
Enter Website Name and choose Title Separator. Together with Title Template, these control the default search title.
-
Review Title Template. The chips stand for changing values, such as the current page's title. Place your cursor where you want a value, select Insert variable, then choose Page title, Separator or Website name. You can also type ordinary words and move or remove chips in the editor.
-
Write Default Meta Description and choose Default Social Media Share Image. Use a description that explains the site and an image that represents it well.
-
Review Preview, then select Save.
| Field | What it does | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Website Name | Supplies the site name used by title chips. | Use the name visitors recognize. |
| Title Separator | Supplies the punctuation between title parts. | Choose one style for the site. |
| Title Template | Combines chips and text to make default page titles. | Page title, separator and website name gives each page a distinct title with your brand. |
| Default Meta Description | Supplies a description when a page has no individual one. | The editor suggests a length; make the wording useful rather than filling space. |
| Default Social Media Share Image | Supplies a sharing image when a page has no individual one. | Check the crop in several previews. |
For example, the page-title chip, separator chip and website-name chip can produce "Contact | Acme" on your contact page and "About | Acme" on your about page.

Use the Google, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Discord and Slack preview tabs to see how the title, description and image may appear. These are previews; each service controls its final display and may shorten text.
Individual pages have their own SEO fields. A page's own values take priority over defaults. Posts may also have an SEO tab, depending on your site.
Check afterwardsLink to this section
Check an important public page and its individual SEO preview. Search results do not update immediately after you save: search engines need to revisit the page. Social services can also keep an older preview. Ask your agency if a shared link keeps showing an old image after publication.
