Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to common questions after your website handover.

On this page

Find the question that matches your problem, then follow the linked guide for the steps. If the checks do not resolve it, send your agency the page address and the message you see.

I changed something, but the site did not update. What should I check?Link to this section

Check that you published rather than saved a draft, edited the correct page and language, and reloaded the public address. If it is still old, follow cache and performance.

Edit Header or Footer, add the link, and publish the change. Creating a page does not automatically add it to the menu. See navigation.

How do I make an image smaller?Link to this section

Adjust the image block or layout settings on the page. Replacing a large file with a small one changes image quality, not necessarily its displayed size. See page blocks and media.

Can I undo a change?Link to this section

For a saved page, open Versions and compare an earlier version. Choose Restore as draft to review it privately. Restoring a published version with Restore this version can make it public immediately. See drafts and versions.

Why can't I see a section or button in my Admin?Link to this section

The feature may be optional, or your role may not have access. Ask your administrator or agency to check rather than using someone else's account. See users and roles.

Does saving a draft change the public page?Link to this section

No. Visitors see the published version until you publish the change. A preview can show draft work. See publishing and drafts.

Can I preview before publishing?Link to this section

Use the page's preview controls where available and check the layout and links. See live preview.

I created a page. Why is it not in the menu?Link to this section

Pages and navigation are separate. Publish the page, then add a link in Header or Footer. See navigation.

How do I change the homepage?Link to this section

Choose Homepage in General Settings → Pages, save, and check the site's main address. Choose a published page. See settings.

Why doesn't my new post appear on the blog?Link to this section

Check that it is published and matches the archive's category or tag filters. A fixed list also needs the post selected. See blog archives.

Why is my featured image missing from the article body?Link to this section

A featured image is used by lists and other layouts; it is not automatically inserted into the body. Add a body image if needed and check the header settings. See writing a post.

How do I change the writer's name on an article?Link to this section

Select the correct Author on the post. If the account name itself is wrong, ask an administrator to correct it. See authors.

My image upload did not save. What now?Link to this section

Read the error, check the file limits and your connection, then search Uploads for the filename before trying again. You can use an existing library image while your agency checks the problem. See upload help.

Can I rename a page's address?Link to this section

Yes, if your role permits it, but existing links may break. Add a redirect from the old address and test it. See redirects.

Why does Google still show the old title or description?Link to this section

Search engines need to revisit the page and may choose their own wording. Check your saved SEO fields and allow time for the result to update. See SEO.

Check the page's own social image and the site-wide default. The sharing service may still hold an old preview; ask your agency if it persists. See page SEO and site-wide SEO.

Where do contact-form messages go?Link to this section

Check Form Submissions. A notification can also go to an inbox if email delivery is set up. See submissions and email notifications.

Can I download form responses into a spreadsheet?Link to this section

Filter Form Submissions, choose its export action, review the preview, and download CSV. See exporting submissions.

The form response exists, but no email arrived. What now?Link to this section

Check spam and the expected recipient. Give your agency the form name and submission time so they can check delivery. See email notifications.

Does switching the Admin language translate my website?Link to this section

No. The account preference changes menus and labels. Website translations use the content-language selector and may need publishing separately. See languages.

Can AI publish something for me?Link to this section

AI suggestions still need your review and your save or publish action. Check facts, links and wording before using the result. See AI assistant.

Why don't the analytics numbers match my enquiries?Link to this section

Visitors and views measure browsing, not form responses or sales. Tracking can also miss visits because of privacy choices. See analytics and form submissions.

How do I reset a forgotten password?Link to this section

Choose Forgot password? on the sign-in screen and enter the requested account identifier. Check your account email and spam folder. See users and passwords.

You can edit cookie entries if you have access, but the entry does not connect or block the service. Ask your agency to check its category and consent behavior. See cookie consent.

When should I contact the agency?Link to this section

Contact them for missing features, access changes, email delivery, new tracking services or a published change that stays missing after the guide's checks. Send the page address and a clear description of the issue. See settings and cache and performance.
