General settings

Choose your homepage, review email settings and refresh pages in General Settings.

On this page

General Settings contains settings used across the site. The available tabs depend on your site's features and your role. Review site-wide changes carefully, because they can affect many pages at once.

The Pages tab chooses the homepage.

FieldWhat it doesTip
HomepageChooses the page visitors see at the site's main address.Choose a published page and check the main address after saving.
  1. Open General Settings and choose Pages.
  2. In Homepage, select the published page you want visitors to see first.
  3. Choose Save, then open your website's main address and check the result.

The selected page's own address normally sends visitors to the main address. Keep that page published until you choose a replacement homepage.

EmailsLink to this section

This tab sets default branding and sender details for outgoing site emails. It does not choose which form notifications to send; those belong to each form.

FieldWhat it doesTip
Email From NameSets the sender name shown in inboxes.Use a recognizable organization name.
Email From AddressSets the default sending address.Your agency must verify that the email service can send from it.
Reply To AddressSets where replies go.Use a monitored inbox.
Email LogoAdds your logo to the site's branded email layout.Choose a clear image that works at email size.

A form may override these defaults. Changing the address here alone does not verify it with the email provider.

Where Send test email is available, save any sender changes first, enter an address you control in Send a test email to, and send a test. Check the inbox and spam folder. This checks the saved sender defaults; also test each form notification through its public form.

TroubleshootLink to this section

Revalidate all pages refreshes the site's saved page copies.

  1. Open General Settings and choose Troubleshoot.
  2. Choose Revalidate all pages, then Click again to confirm.
  3. Wait for the success message and the number of pages cleared. Reload the affected public page.

There is no content change to save for this action.

Use it when a published change remains missing. See cache and performance for the checks to do first and separate Cloudflare tools.

Header and Footer are separate editors in the sidebar. They hold site-wide navigation and content such as menus, links and footer text. To add a menu link, follow navigation.

Changing Homepage does not automatically add a menu link. Likewise, creating a page does not guarantee that it appears in navigation.

Check afterwardsLink to this section

Check the main public address after a homepage change, a test email after an email change, and the affected page after a refresh. For header or footer changes, check several pages and each language your site uses.
