Edit the cookie banner's wording, policy links and cookie information.

You'll update the cookie banner's wording and links, then check the choices visitors see. Visitors can accept, reject or customize optional cookies. The settings let you edit the wording and listed cookies; your agency connects those choices to the services used by your site.

  1. Open General Settings and choose Cookie Consent.
  2. Review the banner and preferences wording. Keep the meaning of each choice clear.
  3. Check the policy links, categories and cookie entries against the information your agency supplied.
  4. On multilingual sites, review the wording in each content language.
  5. Choose Save. Check the public banner in a private browser window so an earlier cookie choice does not hide it.

The categories are Strictly necessary, Functional, Analytics, Performance and Advertisement. Describe the actual use on your site rather than copying wording from another website.

DomainIdentifies the domain associated with the cookie.Copy the checked value accurately.

Adding an entry to this list does not install or block a service. Tell your agency when you add analytics, video, chat or advertising tools so they can check the banner and consent behavior.

Check the public banner and its preferences in a browser with no saved choice. Follow the policy links, inspect the category descriptions and test accepting, rejecting and saving choices. Ask your agency to verify that optional services follow those choices.
